Chandigarh INTUC President and Congress spokesperson Naseeb Jakhar voiced concerns, stating that the BJP government is infringing upon the rights of farmers, labourers, and employees.
According to Jakhar, various sections of society feel deceived under the current BJP administration. Farmers and laborers, seeking justice for their demands, are staging protests on the borders, while employees are engaged in agitation. Addressing employee organizations in Chandigarh Sector 17 in response to the Bharat Bandh called by the Central Trade Unions, Naseeb Jakhar criticized the BJP for not fulfilling its promises. He highlighted unfulfilled commitments, such as providing two crore jobs annually, depositing fifteen lakh rupees into every person’s account, reducing inflation, and retrieving black money. Jakhar accused the government of undermining democracy and adopting a dictatorial policy instead. Jakhar expressed concern over the use of force against employees, farmers, and laborers who are fighting for their rights. He noted incidents of sticks, bullets, horse gas shells, and attempts to file cases and imprison those seeking justice. Appealing to the government, Naseeb Jakhar called for dialogue to address the issues raised by farmers, confirmation of job security for employees, and ensuring minimum wages for laborers.
