At Government College of Commerce and Business Administration in Chandigarh’s Sector-50, the Gender Sensitization Society ‘Jagriti’ and NSS Units celebrated the Lohri festival for girl children. The event aimed to promote gender equality and underscore the significance of girl children in society.
Dr. Sangam Kapoor, the Principal, along with Dr. V Magesh, the Vice Principal, Dr. Bikramjit Kaur, Dr. Sarbjit Kaur, Dr. Harinder Kaur, and the entire teaching staff distributed winter clothing and traditional sweets to underprivileged girl children in the college premises and the adopted village, Kajheri.
NSS Volunteers and Programme Officers, Ms. Vandana Jain and Mr. Ashutosh Sharma, visited Government High School, Kajheri, to distribute essential items such as eatables, blankets, socks, caps, gloves, and sweaters to those in need.
Additionally, the NSS Volunteers took a pledge on National Youth Day, commemorating the birthday of Swami Vivekananda ji, and watched a movie about his life. The NSS volunteers also participated in a live stream of the 27th National Youth Festival, inaugurated by PM Modi.
