CBI grills YSR family’s close aide in Jagan’s uncle murder case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its investigation into the murder of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy (uncle of Andhra CM Jaganmohan Reddy) and has questioned his close aide Devireddy Shiva Shankar Reddy. Devireddy is a leader of YSRCP Pulivendula where Vivekananda Reddy was murdered on 14 March 2019.

The 68-year-old leader was alone at his house when unidentified persons barged in and killed him. He was killed hours before he was to launch YSR Congress Party’s election campaign in Kadapa.

 Shiva Shankar Reddy is also a close associate of Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy. Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Sunitha submitted his name also to the High Court as a suspect. Previously he was grilled by the SIT. The list of suspects in this murder case involves a lot of influential leaders and the CBI may question TDP MLC B. Tech Ravi, former minister Adinarayana Reddyin. Adinarayana Reddy recently quit TDP to join BJP. CBI had discussed the case details with slain leader’s wife Sowbhagyamma and conducted a thorough search of Vivekananda’s Pulivendula residence.

CBI has also recorded the victim’s daughter Sunitha who had reportedly given a through account of the day the murder took place. Based on her accounts and the prior investigation by police and SIT, a list of 15 suspects have been forwarded to the CBI.
