According to an official statement from the CBI, a head constable assigned to the Sonia Vihar police station in Delhi has been detained in connection with a bribery case. The CBI opened a case against the head constable for accepting an 8,000 rupee bribe. According to the CBI, “The complainant claimed that he was constructing a house for his sister on a contract basis at Kaushalpuri in Sonia Vihar. The building was put on hold while the accused head constable demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 to continue. “Furthermore, it was claimed that the chief constable eventually consented to Rs 8,000.” As a result, the CBI set up a trap and detained the chief constable after he accepted a Rs 8,000 bribe.
