Two brothers lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries when a car they were traveling in burst into flames in Mumbai’s B A Road in the Matunga area.
The CNG car had been on a joyride after a party when tragedy struck. According to authorities, the vehicle collided with a road divider, resulting in a sudden and intense fire. The occupants were unable to exit the vehicle in time.
Local residents noticed the inferno and promptly alerted both fire and police personnel, who rushed to the scene. The two young men who lost their lives were identified as Prem Vaghela (18) and Ajay Vaghela (20), as confirmed by a fire official. An official from the Sion police station reported that all the occupants of the car hailed from the suburban area of Mankhurd. They had been en route to Marine Drive in south Mumbai for a joyride following their party.
During the incident, the left-side door locks of the car became jammed, preventing the occupants from escaping, according to the police official.
