In a dramatic turn of events after their Telangana victory, ardent supporters of Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy flooded Hyderabad streets, demanding his ascension to the Chief Ministerial throne. Demonstrations echoed with passionate calls for Reddy’s leadership, attributing the party’s triumph to his pivotal role.

Expressing their fervor, a vocal supporter proclaimed to ANI, “Our singular demand is clear. After battling the BJP and BRS, 65 MLAs’ victory resonates through Revanth Reddy’s efforts. Nothing but Reddy as CM will suffice.”

Clutching placards emblazoned with ‘We want Revanth Reddy as CM’, Reddy’s loyalists vocalized their unwavering support for his elevation.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) met in Hyderabad’s Gandhi Bhawan on Monday following Telangana’s stunning victory. As he walked out of the meeting, Congress leader DK Shivakumar revealed that the newly elected MLAs had unanimously authorized Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to name the Congress Legislature Party leader.

DK Shivakumar affirmed, “All newly elected Congress members have unanimously entrusted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge with appointing the Congress Legislature Party leader. We stand unified in abiding by the high command’s decision.”

The Telangana Congress’ sweeping win of 64 seats in the 119-member Assembly has thrown the state’s political landscape into upheaval. The newfound clout of Congress in Telangana, following their remarkable performance in Karnataka, has significantly altered the party’s standing in India’s youngest state.
