The nod has been given for the doubling of the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer-Chanderia, and Luni-Samdari-Bhildi railway routes in Rajasthan. The doubling of these railway routes is expected to stimulate fast and convenient rail transport, fostering economic, social, and religious activities.
Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur Route
According to Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, the Cabinet has approved the doubling of the Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer-Chanderia, and Luni Samdari-Bhildi railway routes of North Western Railway.

Additionally, it will provide better connectivity to the Ranthambore forest sanctuary, religious sites in Chauth Ka Barwara and Shivad, and educational institutions in Vanasthali. The doubling is expected to boost tourism, religious activities, and education in the region, creating employment opportunities.
Ajmer-Chanderia Route
The doubling work for the Ajmer-Chanderia route covering 178.20 km and 212.08 km of track has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 1813.28 crore. Doubling this route is anticipated to benefit the textile industry in Bhilwara, and cement industries around Chittorgarh, and create new employment opportunities.
It is also expected to increase tourist activities in Ajmer, Chittorgarh, and Udaipur. Moreover, Naseerabad will witness improved facilities for military area activities and troop movement, and the increased line capacity will allow for more trains and higher speeds.
Luni-Samdari-Bhildi Route
The doubling work for the Luni-Samdari-Bhildi route, spanning 278 kilometres and 315.57 kilometres of track, has been approved at an estimated cost of Rs 3530.92 crore. Currently facing heavy traffic, doubling this route will facilitate the transportation of more freight and potentially allow for the operation of double-stack container trains in the future.
This route serves Jodhpur and Barmer via Jalore on the way to Ahmedabad. The doubling is expected to enable the operation of more passenger and goods trains.
