Union Budget 2024: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Delivers Smallest Speech In The Parliament

 

Breaking veteran Finance Minister Morarji Desai’s record in presenting the union budget, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented 7th union budget consecutively.

But this year in 2024, FM Nirmala Sitharaman donning white and pink saree, has given smallest speech in union budget today. The duration of her speech was 1 hour 25 minutes. It stood at 86 minutes.

Earlier while presenting the interim budget in February, Sitharaman’s duration of speech was 56 minutes.

According to Deccan herald report, the duration of her maiden speech was 10,965 words, but this time, the 2024 speech consisted of 5,271 words.

But in the year 2020, her budget speech in February was the longest, which was more than 2 hours 40 minutes. Despite her speech being long, it was forced to be trimmed by two pages. It still managed to cross 2 hours 40 minutes duration.

Brief Highlight Of Union Budget 2024 

Meanwhile recently in her budget speech, finance minister announced some major decisions this year.

Nirmala Sitharaman has presented nine important priorities in Union Budget 2024-25 which primarily focuses on productivity in agriculture, employment and skill, inclusivity in human resource development and focusing on social justice, manufacturing & services, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation, research & development and another set of reforms.
