Indian Indices such as Sensex and Nifty reached fresh highs, as trading sessions come to a close on Wednesday.
These gains are mostly aided by the gains made by Banking and media stocks. The Sensex closed at 78,572.43, which increased by 518.91 points and Nifty had 120.60 points, which closed at 23,868.80.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex reached an-all time fresh highs of 78,759.40. It got closed with an increase of 620.72 points or 0.80 per cent, which stood at 78,674.25.
The NSE Nifty 50 also witnessed an increase with 147.50 points or 0.62 per cent, which stood at 23,868.80.
The companies who gained the most in NSE Nifty 50 were Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cement, ICICI Bank, and Grasim. Meanwhile companies like Apollo Hospitals, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel, and Hindalco Industries remained behind.
If observed sectoral-wise, the nifty media increased by 1.7 per cent while Nifty Bank and Nifty FMCG gained respectively by 0.5 per cent and 0.4 per cent.
As for Financial Services, FMCG, Media, Pharma, PSU Banks, Private Banks and Oil and Gas sectors, they continue to remain in green. Consumer durables, Midsmall healthcare, Realty, Metal and IT also ended the session with green.
