Jan 27 (Reuters) – Gatik said on Tuesday it has secured $600 million in contracted revenue and deployed fully driverless trucks for commercial operations, underscoring the autonomous trucking firm's ambitions to establish a strong foothold in the industry.  Heavy regulatory scrutiny over safety concerns has largely made full commercialization of autonomous driving challenging, but advances in artificial intelligence has helped many firms to improve their technology.  "Today, we are operating fully driverless trucks across multiple logistics networks and markets, serving the largest retailers and CPG companies in the country," said Gautam Narang, CEO and co-founder of Gatik.  Gatik's freight trucks run nearly 24 hours a day, moving goods between distribution centers and stores to boost delivery frequency, cut costs and keep shelves stocked, the company said.  The autonomous trucking sector has also seen a surge in public listings, with various rivals looking to tap into the lucrative market and take advantage of growing demand for self-driving vehicles.  (Reporting by Zaheer Kachwala in Bengaluru; Editing by Leroy Leo)
