Capgemini India Plans to Hire 45,000+ in 2025 Focused on AI-Ready

Ashwin Yardi, the CEO of Capgemini India, stated that 35–40% of them would be lateral recruitment. According to him, the company, which employs over 1.75 lakh people in India, has noticed a notable rise in work going to India.

Capgemini India has officially announced plans to hire approximately between 40,000 and 45,000 new employees by the year 2025 as part of its major expansion plans, notwithstanding the volatility in the IT market. It already employs around 175,000 people across India. The new hiring is expected to include an estimated 35-40% lateral recruitment-savvy professionals who will bring domain expertise from other companies.

The remainder will be made up of fresh graduates hired through the 50-plus partner colleges. The hiring spree comes at a time when so many companies are laying off their employees and tightening budgets across the board. Capgemini’s intention is to take global client demand through Indian operations to provide cost-effective, scalable digital services.

Combining with WNS

Despite the fact that other acquisitions were greater in terms of revenue, Capgemini’s acquisition of WNS represents a strategic move since it represents its highest workforce to date. The acquisition process is now in progress and might take up to six months to receive final clearance.

Capgemini has a history of retaining key executives, including its current CFO and former CEO, who were part of previous acquisitions, such as iGate.

By 2027, revenue synergies from the deal are anticipated to reach $100 million to $140 million. Additionally, by 2026, it is anticipated to increase Capgemini’s earnings per share (EPS) by 4% before the merger and 7% after.

Developing an AI-Ready Workforce from Day One

Creating an AI-equipped workforce from the beginning is, of course, the core of Capgemini’s recruitment drive. Early training in AI and generative AI techniques is required for new hires, preparing them for projects rapidly. The company has partnered with over 50 educational institutions to simplify the process.

Capgemini’s leadership has announced how AI will lead to more efficient productivity through speeding up delivery and better value but will require a good approach to deployment. In fact, not all AI deployments had positive ROI, but as CEO Aiman Ezzat stated, this calls for strategic, case-by-case, AI recommendations.

Thus, this AI-advancing strategy goes in hand with Capgemini’s continuing investments in scale-based AI strength capabilities. The company has introduced its agentic AI Precision platforms, works on more than 200 generative AI projects, and anticipates the added value with the forthcoming acquisition of WNS, which is planned to fortify BPS and intelligent operations services.
