
BSNL collaborates with global tech giants Ericsson, Qualcomm, Cisco, and Nokia to enhance telecom skill development at BRBRAITT, Jabalpur (Zee)
The strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) with four top global technology firms-Ericsson, Qualcomm Technologies, Cisco Systems and Nokia Solutions and Networks'-form important milestones in BSNL's initiatives to build a future-ready telecom workforce.
The collaboration is aimed at undertaking training programs in domains of 5G, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), networking, and digital technologies. The training programs will be conducted at BSNL's premier institute, Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT) in Jabalpur.

The Ministry of Communications indicated that these partnerships are intended to accelerate the digital transformation of the country while strengthening the skilling ecosystem of the nation. This initiative complements the larger vision of the Department of Telecommunications to set up a Telecom Innovation, Research and Training Centre (TIRTC) inside BRBRAITT for enhancing capacities in emerging technologies in India.
Describing signing of the MoUs as a landmark initiative aimed at imparting state-of-the-art skill development to over 2,000 students every year, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said that the first phase is estimated to exceed investments of ₹1 crore.

The course offerings will range from a to-the-point two-week short-term program to more in-depth 84-hour courses. The program is ambitious enough to place Jabalpur on the map as one of the most prestigious centers for higher technology education in telecom.
The global partners reaffirmed their commitment to India’s growth story, Nokia’s Country Manager Tarun Chhabra emphasized the company’s thirty-year presence in India and has plans to expand its local talent pool through hiring and skilling initiatives. Likewise, Ericsson India’s Managing Director Nitin Bansal emphasized upon the significance of this collaboration in building a workforce capable to innovate 5G, IoT and beyond.
The 5G Centre of Excellence to be set up at BRBRAITT under the MoU with Ericsson will offer hands-on training as well as online courses to over 2,000 students annually. The curriculum, trainers, and labs will be provided by Ericsson with BSNL contributing classroom infrastructure.
BSNL's strategic collaboration with global tech leaders marks a key milestone in India's efforts to establish a skilled workforce in tune with technology specifications, ready to push the country forward in its telecom sector. The initiative does not only enhance the employability of Indian students but also considerably boosts India's standing in the global technology and innovation arena.
