Banks to Remain Closed for 15 Days in September 2025 | CHECK FULL LIST

According to RBI’s calendar, banks across India will observe up to 15 holidays in September 2025, including Onam, Durga Puja, and Id-e-Milad. However, closures differ region-wise, so customers should confirm local schedules.

The Reserve Bank of India released the bank holiday calendar for September 2025. Banks are expected to remain shut for up to 15 days in September across several Indian states. However, it doesn’t necessarily mean that banks across the country will be closed on the same days, as holidays differ from region to region.

Banks will be closed on Sundays and every second and forth Saturday, on their usual basis. Apart from that, several festival-related holidays like Onam and Durga Puja will see the closure of the banks. 

Major banks including the State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank will follow this holiday schedule, check it out:

  • September 3: Ranchi | Karma Puja
  • September 4: Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram | First Onam
  • September 5: Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada | Id-E-Milad/Milad-un-Nabi/Thiruvonam/Milad-i-Sherif
  • September 6: Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur, Srinagar | Id-e-Milad (Milad-Un-Nabi)/Indrajatra
  • September 12: Jammu, Srinagar | Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi
  • September 22: Jaipur | Navratra Sthapna
