RBI Releases November Bank Holiday Schedule
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for November 2024, with banks set to close for a total of 13 days. The closures include public and regional holidays along with regular weekly holidays on Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays. Many of these holidays fall under the Negotiable Instruments Act, ensuring no transactions on these days.
This month, banks will observe closures due to major festivals, including Diwali, Chhath Puja, and Guru Nanak Jayanti. However, the holiday schedule varies by state, as different regions observe distinct festivals or traditional events, such as Egaas-Bagwal in Uttarakhand and Kanakadasa Jayanti in Karnataka.
With bank holidays varying widely across India’s states and Union Territories, customers are advised to review the official RBI website for an updated list of holidays in their specific location to avoid inconvenience when visiting branches.
