Apple fans can look forward to the much-awaited iPhone 17 series, which is expected to launch globally in September 2025. This time, Apple plans to unveil four new models—iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. These devices are said to come with major design improvements, better cameras, upgraded processors, and more advanced software.
Thanks to several leaks and reports, we now have a good idea of the expected release dates, specifications, pricing, and design changes across the entire lineup.
Apple analyst Mark Gurman has stated in a report for Bloomberg that Apple will likely announce the iPhone 17 series between September 8 and 10, 2025. The phones will hit stores a few days later.
In India, the pricing is expected to start at:
₹89,900 for the iPhone 17
₹99,900 for the iPhone 17 Air
₹1,35,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro
₹1,64,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max
According to Macworld, color options will also vary by model:
The iPhone 17 and 17 Air may come in Light Gold, Light Blue, Purple, and Green
The Pro models are expected in Black, White, Grey, and Dark Blue
While the base iPhone 17 may not see much of a design shift, the iPhone 17 Air will reportedly feature a pixel-like camera island at the back with one camera sensor.
The Pro models are said to sport a larger camera island stretching across the top back of the phone. All sensors will sit on the left side of this block.

iPhone 17: Dual-camera setup with a 48MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens
iPhone 17 Air: Single 48MP rear camera
Pro and Pro Max: Triple camera system, each with a 48MP main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lens
Across all four devices, Apple may introduce a 24MP front camera for improved selfies and video calls.
The Air and base iPhone 17 models are expected to be powered by Apple A18 and A19 chipsets, respectively. Meanwhile, the Pro models will run on the more advanced Apple A19 Pro chip.
Performance will also improve with more RAM—the Pro variants might feature 12GB RAM, up from the previous 8GB.
Additionally, Apple might include ProMotion technology on some models, offering a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals and animations.
