Air India Express Cancels 70 Flights Due To Crew Sick Leave

In a peculiar turn of events in the airline industry, Air India Express has recently canceled more than 80 international and domestic flights from Tuesday night till Wednesday morning.

The airline’s spokesperson attributed the cancellation to senior crew members taking a “mass sick leave.”

“A section of our cabin crew has reported sick at the last minute, starting last night, resulting in flight delays and cancellations.”-Air India Express’s spokesperson

As further revealed by the spokesperson, they are currently engaging with the crew to look into the reason behind this occurrence.

Addressing the issue of guests, who have been affected such cancellations, the spokesperson further emphasized, that the affected travellers will be shortly refunded or will receive a complimentary rescheduling.

“Guests impacted by cancellations will be offered a full refund or complimentary rescheduling to another date. Guests flying with us today are requested to check if their flight is affected, before heading to the airport.”

Further apologizing for further inconvenience, the spokesperson said “We sincerely apologise to our guests for this unexpected disruption and emphasise that this situation does not reflect the standard of service we strive to provide.”

As for the sick leave matter, the civil aviation authorities are probing the matter.
