Both Houses Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned on Thursday because the Congress and other opposition parties were insisting on a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the Adani-Hindenburg row.

Meanwhile, BJP members were demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi for remark that he made in London. Earlier today, Congress MP Ranjit Ranjan issued a suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha and demanded discussions on the Adani issue.

In a notice under Rule 267, Ranjit Ranjan said, “Government has failed in constituting a Joint Parliamentary Committee to investigate the serious charges of corporate fraud, political corruption, stock market manipulation and financial mismanagement against the Adani group”.

In another news, Syed Naseer Hussain of Congress Party gave suspension of business notice under Rule 267 in the Rajya Sabha on “worrying trend of declining freedom of speech and expression in the country”.

Notably, Parliament was disrupted continuously for the third day in a row on Wednesday. The second half of the budget session had begun on Monday and had been disrupted. The BJP has accused Congress President Rahul Gandhi for disparaging India’s institutions on foreign soil.
