Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has criticized the Union Budget, stating that Haryana is deeply disappointed as the budget makes no mention of the state. Hooda claimed the budget has also failed to address the concerns of farmers, small traders, the middle class, the poor, and housewives, who are suffering from ongoing inflation and heavy taxes without any relief.
He noted that the budget did not address the issue of MSP (Minimum Support Price) guarantee, and there was no increase in the Kisan Samman Nidhi amount. Hooda highlighted that the number of Kisan Samman Nidhi beneficiaries has decreased from 11.39 crore in June 2022 to 9.26 crore.
Hooda also criticized the budget for lacking a clear plan to tackle unemployment, calling the BJP’s budget presentation a mere formality. He added that without providing relief to the common man, the government is exacerbating the country’s debt, which has increased by 10% this time.
