With the Union Budget 2024 set for unveiling, Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna expressed strong optimism about its potential, calling it a crucial step toward realizing a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).

Khanna shared his expectations with ANI, emphasizing that the budget is pivotal for the nation’s development. He noted recent positive economic trends, including a growth rate increase to 8.2% from 6.5% and a decrease in the unemployment rate, reflecting robust economic activity.

Khanna also highlighted that the upcoming budget is expected to directly benefit Uttar Pradesh. Copies of the Union Budget 2024 have already been delivered to Parliament, and it will be the first budget presented by Narendra Modi’s government in its third term. The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Modi, approved the budget on Tuesday ahead of its formal presentation by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Prime Minister Modi, along with key ministers including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, attended the Cabinet meeting. Sitharaman is set to present the budget today at 11 am, marking her seventh consecutive budget, surpassing Morarji Desai’s record. Expectations are high for revisions in income tax and improvements in the ease of doing business. The budget session, which began on July 22, will run until August 12.
