Before the second portion of the Budget session started on Monday, opposition leaders staged a protest against the Central government in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament.
Members from the Congress, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Aam Aadmi Party protested in front of Parliament over the alleged abuse of federal investigative agencies and demanded that the Hindenburg-Adani matter be investigated by a joint parliamentary committee (JPC). 16 parties took part in the meeting of opposition party leaders earlier on Monday in Parliament, which was presided over by Mallikarjun Kharge, head of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
Aam Admi Party, Kerala Congress, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Nationalist Congress Party, Communist Party of India, Indian Union Muslim League, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and the NC were among the 16 parties that made up the coalition.
After a one-month break, the Budget session’s second half began on Monday.
Due to protests from the opposition and calls for a JPC investigation into the Adani problem, the first half of the Budget session also experienced numerous interruptions and adjournments.
