The YSRCP led by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has declared its candidates for the posts of mayors and chairpersons, allocating 60.47% of the posts to women. This means that out of 86 posts, 52 posts are held by women. Also, to “ensure the welfare of the SC/ST/BC/minority communities”, the YSRCP has decided that 78% representatives would be from the weaker sections. This means that out of the 86 posts, the government has decided to give 67 posts to the backward communities (SC/ ST/ BC/ minorities).
The CM Jagan-led government has also allocated 50% of temple boards, agricultural marketing committees, nomination posts, and nominated contracts to SC/ST/BC/minority social groups and allocated 50% of all posts to women.
