Varun Dhawan Supports Allu Arjun After Pushpa 2 Stampede Tragedy: ‘Actor Can’t Take Everything Upon Himself’ | WATCH

Allu Arjun has been arrested on Friday for an unfortunate incident that occurred during the premier of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad, in which a woman lost her life. Some fans questioned his arrest; others said it might be done for publicity. Amid this reaction, Varun Dhawan stood up to the defense of the actor.

Varun, who is promoting his upcoming film Baby John in Jaipur, spoke about the stampede incident. In a video captured by a paparazzo, he said, “There are safety protocols. An actor cannot take everything upon himself. We can tell people around us. Like I can talk about today. Cinepolis has done a great arrangement here, and we are thankful to them for that.”

He added, “The tragedy that took place is very heartbreaking. I’m very sorry. Sending my condolences. But at the same time, I think aap blame sirf ek insaan pe nahi daal sakte (you cannot put the blame on just one person).”

What happened at the Pushpa 2 Screening?

On December 4, Allu Arjun visited the screening of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A large crowd had gathered there to see the actor. It turned into a stampede killing a 35-year-old woman and hospitalizing her son. In the aftermath, Allu Arjun mourned and extended financial support to the amount of Rs. 25 lakh to the family of the dead woman.

However, after the incident, the Hyderabad police arrested Allu Arjun, citing that a case was filed against him and his security team as well as the theater management. The case was filed at the Chikkadpally police station under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), upon a complaint filed by the family of the deceased.
