Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Jheel Mehta, who played Sonu Bhide, has shared that there was a certain section of the show that left her traumatized. She said at one point that she even wondered why she became a part of the show.
While chatting with Siddhesh Lokare, Jheel opened up about being disturbed by the infamous ‘Tapu Ki Shaadi’ sequence. “I was wondering why am I even doing this show. They are showing child marriage! It was a very traumatising experience for me,” she recalled.
She further explained, “I am not sure what I was thinking. When I saw the show, I realized it was a dream sequence. I was questioning my life decisions. It was weird, funny, and crazy in my head.”

Palak Sindhwani’s Exit from TMKOC
Palak Sindhwani quit the show in October, stating that she had been subjected to “inhuman treatment” from the makers. She termed the production team’s behavior as harassment and declared that she was denied medical leave despite her requests; the production team ignored her condition by insisting on continued working with “passion” and performance of scenes. On 14 September 2024, the doctors restrained her for the treatment of a panic attack on set because she was made to work under her deteriorating health.
