Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has reacted to an arrest warrant issued against him in a case of fraud. The actor made a statement on social media where he expressed disappointment that celebrities were being used as “soft targets” for unwanted media attention. Also, Sood stated that he did not commit the crime and was willing to go to any extent to prove himself innocent before the judiciary.
Sonu Denies the Case
Addressing the floating reports, Sonu Sood issued an official statement on Twitter. He pointed out that the news had been highly exaggerated and that he had no association with the case in question.
“We need to clarify that news circulating within different social media platforms is very sensationalized. To put matters straight, we were summoned as a witness by the Honourable Court in a matter about a third party in which we have no association or affiliation. Our lawyers have responded, and on February 10, 2025, we will give a statement clarifying our non-involvement in the matter.”
Moreover, he further added, “We neither are brand ambassadors nor are otherwise associated. This is just for unnecessary media attention to grab eyeballs. It’s sad that celebs become soft targets. We will take strict action in this matter.”
Case Details
Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur in Ludhiana court issued the warrant of arrest on February 6 after he had failed to appear for multiple summons. The warrant was sent to the Oshiwara Police Station in Andheri West, Mumbai. The police was ordered to arrest Sonu Sood and bring him to court.

Khanna claimed he was deceived into investing in a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme. As part of the legal proceedings, Khanna had summoned Sonu Sood to testify in court. Reportedly he failed to turn up, prompting the warrant.
