All this while an old video that has surfaced online draws attention to some stern words said by Jaya Bachchan about Aishwarya not being her daughter.

Jaya Bachchan on NDTV shares candidly how she made a distinction between a daughter and a daughter-in-law. Reflecting on her relationship with Aishwarya, she remarked, “There is a difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law, you know. I mean, I don’t know why, but you don’t feel the need to respect your parents the same way. As a daughter, you take your parents for granted. With your in-laws, you can’t do that.”. But later, things changed, because I feel today more of a Bachchan than a Bhaduri.

Jaya also mentioned her parenting style during the same interview. She described herself as a strict mother to her children, including Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan, but gave in when it came to Aishwarya. When asked if she was equally strict with her daughter-in-law, Jaya explained, “Strict? She’s not my daughter! She’s my daughter-in-law. Why should I be strict with her? I’m sure her mother has done that for her.”

As speculation swirls, fans have begun theorizing about the potential causes of the rumored rift. Some point to alleged tensions within the Bachchan family, while others suggest Abhishek’s rumored infidelity with his Dasvi co-star Nimrat Kaur.
