Security Concerns in Bollywood

The film industry is reeling after a shocking knife attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his upscale Bandra residence. The attack occurred at the Satguru Sharan building, where Saif lives with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their two children. According to police, the assailant gained access by scaling a neighbouring compound wall, using the fire escape to reach the actor’s floor—suggesting premeditation and familiarity with the building’s layout. Around 2 a.m., the family’s nanny, Eliyama Philip, noticed unusual activity when she found a man emerging from the bathroom and entering the children’s room. The intruder demanded ₹1 crore, injuring Philip when she tried to resist.

Saif confronted the attacker, sustaining severe injuries, including a stab wound to the spine that caused spinal fluid leakage. With the help of house staff, the actor managed to lock the assailant in a room, but the attacker escaped before authorities arrived. Police are now conducting a large-scale manhunt, analysing CCTV footage that shows the suspect fleeing the premises. The harrowing 30-minute ordeal has left Bollywood and fans shaken, intensifying the call for tighter residential security protocols.
