Esha Verma, daughter of Ashwin Verma and stepdaughter of actress Rupali Ganguly, recently took to Instagram to level multiple allegations against her father and stepmother. In a now-deleted video, Esha accused Ashwin and Rupali Ganguly of neglect and emotional harm, claiming they ignored and criticized her in ways that impacted her mental health. She shared that they abandoned her emotionally and dismissed her insecurities. Esha also mentioned her stepbrother, Rudransh, expressing hope that Ashwin is the father to him that he couldn’t be to her and her sister.

Following the video, Rupali Ganguly’s legal team, led by lawyer Sana Raees Khan, issued Esha Verma a defamation notice for ₹50 crore. Rupali’s lawyer stated that the notice was in response to Esha’s “false and damaging statements” intended to harm Rupali’s reputation. According to Khan, Rupali’s decision to take legal action stemmed from a desire to protect her personal and professional integrity from what she described as baseless claims meant to damage her image and exploit her public standing.
Esha, who resides in New Jersey, has since made her Instagram private, deleting the video that led to the notice. She shared that her parents, Ashwin and her mother Sapna, married in 1997 and separated in 2008. Ashwin remarried in 2013, and he and Rupali Ganguly share one son, Rudransh.
