Rashmika Mandanna Appointed National Ambassador for Cyber Safety Initiatives

Actress Rashmika Mandanna has been appointed as the ‘National Ambassador for Promoting Cyber Safety’ by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Her role will focus on nationwide initiatives aimed at educating the public about various cyber threats, such as online fraud, deepfake videos, cyberbullying, and harmful AI-generated content.

As technology evolves, so do the threats of cybercrime, which have serious implications for individuals, businesses, and communities. Rashmika has firsthand experience with these issues, having been a victim of cybercrime herself when a deepfake video of her was circulated online. This incident spurred her to raise awareness and speak out publicly, leading to the apprehension of the perpetrator by law enforcement.

In her new role, Rashmika expressed her commitment, stating, “Cybercrime is a dangerous and pervasive threat affecting individuals, businesses, and communities worldwide. Having experienced this myself, I am dedicated to raising awareness and promoting cyber safety to foster positive change. We must unite to combat these threats and protect our digital spaces.”

Her appointment comes at a critical time, as cybercrime rates continue to rise with the emergence of new digital threats. The Ministry of Home Affairs believes that Rashmika Mandanna’s influence and dedication will significantly bolster efforts to reach a wider audience and promote a culture of cyber hygiene and safety.

The Ministry is optimistic that her involvement will contribute to creating a safer and more secure digital environment for all citizens.
