Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone to be parents soon: Revisiting their love story

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are set to welcome their first baby in September. The stars announced their pregnancy on Thursday, February 29, with a joint post.

Deepika and Ranveer first met at an award show and became good friends. Talking about their first meeting, the ‘Lootera’ star once told Filmfare that he was awestruck by her beauty.

“First of all, I saw her from behind…she’s wearing this silver thing and she is so tall, man I couldn’t believe that anybody could look like that,” he said.

Their friendship blossomed into love on the sets of ‘Ram Leela’ in 2012. The couple, however, avoided talking about their relationship in public. They eventually got engaged in 2015 but kept it under wraps. Ranveer later revealed that proposed to her in Maldives. Following this, they flew down to Bengaluru to break the news to Deepika’s parents.

In 2016, they “unofficially” confirmed their relationship when they attended events together. The two finally decided to tie the knot in 2018, beginning a new chapter in life. Their wedding was a grand affair, which did justice to their fairytale love story. Deepika and Ranveer exchanged vows as per Hindu Konkani and Sikh traditions in Italy much to the delight of their fans .

Photos from these functions became a rage on social media. Movie buffs got the full video of their festivities five years after the big day. The stars are known for their Public Display of Affection (PDA). Moreover, many feel that Ranveer’s lively personality makes him a perfect foil to Deepika.

They make an equally good pair on the big screen. The two previously worked together in films such as ‘Ram Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, ‘Padmaavat’, ’83’, and ‘Cirkus’. They will soon be seen together in ‘Singham Again’, starring Ajay Devgn in the titular role. The film will see Ranveer reprise his role from ‘Simmba’. Deepika, on the other hand, is the latest addition to Rohit Shetty’s ‘Cop Universe’. Going by the posters, she plays a dangerous cop in the film.
