Ranbir Kapoor was recently observed participating in Ganpati Visarjan, a tradition that has been passed down from his late father, Rishi Kapoor. On Wednesday, September 11, Ranbir and his mother, Neetu Kapoor, were seen performing the rituals together.
During the event, Ranbir was spotted lifting the idol of Lord Ganesha for its immersion, while Neetu was guiding the staff. The mother-son duo then prayed with folded hands as the idol was submerged in water. A fan commented, “Very very beautiful,” and many users expressed their appreciation with heart emojis. One user asked, “Where’s Alia? Why is she never present?”
The Ganpati Visarjan tradition at RK Studios was established by Raj Kapoor in 1952, alongside his father Prithviraj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor, known for celebrating all festivals at his studio with family and crew, continued this legacy. Salman Khan’s family is also noted for their secular approach, celebrating all Indian festivals with loved ones.
Ranbir Kapoor’s latest film is Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. He will next be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he plays Lord Ram. The epic drama, based on Valmiki’s ancient texts, features Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, with Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, and others in significant roles. Ranbir is also expected to work on Sandeep’s Animal Park later in 2025.
