Radhika Apte, who welcomed her first child with husband Benedict Taylor in December 2024, surprised everyone with her latest post from the BAFTA Awards 2025. The actress shared a candid moment that perfectly captured the challenges of being a new mother while attending a high-profile event.

A Unique BAFTA Moment

Radhika Apte posted a picture from the washroom, holding a breast-milk pump in one hand and a glass of champagne in the other. She thanked her friend Natasha for helping her attend the event. “I have to thank Natasha @tashtash07 for making it possible for me to attend the BAFTAs. She scheduled the itinerary around my breast pumping timings.”

Moreover, she expressed her gratitude for Natasha’s support, adding, “She not only accompanied me to the washroom to express milk but more importantly brought me champagne in the loo 😂♥️. It’s hard as is to be a new mum and work, this level of care and sensitivity is rare in our film industry and much appreciated.”

Embracing Motherhood

Earlier, Apte and Taylor became parents to a baby girl. Before giving birth, she posed for Vogue and shared details about her pregnancy journey. Reflecting on the experience, she said, “I started telling people the very next day. It (the pregnancy) wasn’t an accident, but we also weren’t trying. And yet, it still came as a shock.”

As she adjusted to pregnancy, she faced several challenges. “Truth is, I struggled to embrace how I looked at the time. I had never seen myself put on so much weight. My body was swollen, I had shooting pains in my pelvis, and the lack of sleep distorted my perspective on everything. Now, not even two weeks into motherhood, my body looks different again.”

A New Perspective on Body Image

Now that she has stepped into motherhood, Apte sees things differently. “There are new challenges, new discoveries, and a different perspective has set in. I look at these photos with much kinder eyes and feel bad for being so hard on myself. Now, I can see only beauty in these changes, and I know I will cherish these photos forever.”

Through her honesty, Apte has inspired many women. Her BAFTAs post beautifully highlighted the balance between work and personal life.
