Actress-model Poonam Pandey has once again become the center of controversy, admitting to orchestrating a fake death to raise awareness about cervical cancer. This surprising disclosure, made in response to her team’s announcement of her death due to cervical cancer which has led to public anger and legal consequences for Poonam Pandey and her husband, Sam Bombay.
In the aftermath of this revelation, Faizan Ansari has filed a defamation case of Rs 100 crore against Poonam Pandey and Sam Bombay. Ansari, who lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the Kanpur Police Commissioner, alleges that the couple collaborated to stage Poonam Pandey’s death, thereby trivializing the gravity of cancer. He argues that this act manipulated the emotions and trust of millions, including the Bollywood industry, and has called for the arrest of both individuals to face charges in the Kanpur court.
The FIR explicitly states, “Poonam Pandey and her husband Sam Bombay conspired to stage her death, making a mockery of a serious illness like cancer. Poonam Pandey orchestrated this stunt for her personal publicity, betraying the trust of millions of Indians and the entire Bollywood industry.”
The controversy unfolded on February 2nd when Poonam Pandey’s team announced her death on various social media platforms, attributing it to cervical cancer. The statement expressed deep sorrow and requested privacy during the mourning period. However, the narrative took an unexpected turn when Poonam Pandey herself resurfaced in an Instagram video, confirming that her reported demise was part of a campaign and asserting her continued existence.
