“My Divorce Is A Personal Matter”: Actor Samantha Prabhu Slams Telangana Minister

Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently responded to Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s remarks about her divorce from Naga Chaitanya, delivering a sharp message urging the minister to be “responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy” and to keep her “out of political battles.”

In a scathing note posted on Instagram shortly after the minister’s comments, Samantha accused her of engaging in speculation, misrepresentation of facts, and trivializing her personal journey. “My divorce is a personal matter and I request that you refrain from speculating about it… To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved,” the actor wrote.

Earlier, Konda Surekha had launched a blistering attack on KT Rama Rao, son of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and linked him to Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. She alleged that he was the reason many actresses quit films and married early, claiming he blackmailed them after getting them addicted to drugs.

While Naga Chaitanya has yet to respond, his father, veteran Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, was quick to address the minister’s comments. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he called the remarks “completely irrelevant and false” and demanded a retraction.

“I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy,” read a rough translation of his post. “As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately,” he added.
