Netflix released the thrilling trailer of ‘Jewel Thief – The Heist’ Begins on Monday, giving a fascinating glimpse into the land of glamour, risk, and lies. The trailer, lasting 2 minutes and 13 seconds, hints at a high-octane mission of a heist of Rs. 500 crore.
Saif Ali Khan plays the character of Rehan Roy, a cool and intelligent thief who’s as quick with his hands as he is with his brain. He’s hired by Jaideep Ahlawat’s character Rajan Aulakh, a calm but brutal mafia don, to carry out a brazen jewel heist. The trailer’s laid-back tone and quick storyline might remind enthusiasts of Saif’s earlier roles in the Race series.

A Battle of Wits and Loyalties
The skilled cast ensemble will lend depth to this action-packed thriller. Vikram Patel, a straight-shooting cop, is essayed by Kunal Kapoor, who is determined to outwit the robbers and stop the heist. Nikita Dutta, who steals hearts as well as jewels, essays Farah, a thief who steals Rehan’s heart as well as his booty. Through the story, loyalty is rewritten and motives are obscured, raising the stakes for all. The grand prize? The fabled African Red Sun gem.

Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, Jewel Thief is the streaming launch of Marflix Pictures, the production company led by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand.This is also their first collaboration with Netflix.

With Jewel Thief, we aimed to make a cinematic world that would be both retro and new, a contemporary heist with emotion and speed.
