Actor Ibrahim Ali Khan is about to make his first Bollywood film debut with ‘Nadaaniyan’, which will start streaming on 7 March, 2025, on Netflix. Netflix made the official announcement of the release date with an Instagram post featuring a promotional video on Thursday.
The film starring Khushi Kapoor as the leading lady revolves around the romantic genre and comes from the stable of Dharmatic Entertainment, which is the digital arm of Dharma Productions, founded by Karan Johar.

Sharing this piece of news on its official Instagram account, Netflix India wrote, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai aisi Nadaaniyan dekh kar 🥰💕. Watch Nadaaniyan, out 7 March, only on Netflix!”

Alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor, the film also features other stars like Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza, and Jugal Hansraj. Karan Johar is executing the film as a producer along with Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra.
The film tells the story of Arjun Mehta played by Ibrahim Ali Khan, a middle-class overachiever and Pia Jai Singh playing Khushi Kapoor daughter in South Delhi. Directed by Shauna Gautam, Nadaaniyan centers on Pia’s daring plan to hook Arjun up as her fake boyfriend to keep her squad within circulation. But when emotions emerge for real, the facade they set out to maintain turns into one of romance and chaos.
Mixed Reactions from Fans
As soon as the announcement was made, fans flooded the comments section with their excitement and nostalgia. One fan wrote, “MISS BRIGANZA IS BACKKKKKK 👏🏽,” referring to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Another compared Ibrahim’s character to that of Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic character and wrote: “Ibrahim gives Rahul in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai vibes 😭.”
However, there were one or two bobbing heads. Some fans were worried about regurgitating old Bollywood memories, with phrases like, “Are they really ruining iconic dialogues, scenes, movies, etc?”
Despite mixed reactions, ‘Nadaaniyan’ remains one of the year’s awaited debuts. With a star-studded cast and a promising storyline, all eyes are on Ibrahim Ali Khan, who is finally walking the red carpet in Bollywood.
