The anticipation is mounting for the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, set to take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Scheduled for January 5, 2025, the ceremony will be broadcast live, with comedian Nikki Glaser making history as the first woman to host the event solo.
This year’s Golden Globes will not only spotlight Hollywood’s elite but also highlight India’s presence in the film industry. The Indian film ‘All We Imagine As Light’, directed by Payal Kapadia, has garnered two notable nominations: Best Director for Kapadia and Best Motion Picture in a Non-English Language.
Kapadia, recognized for her compelling storytelling, faces stiff competition in the Best Director category, contending against acclaimed filmmakers such as Jacques Audiard for ‘Emilia Perez’, Sean Baker for ‘Anora’, and Edward Berger for ‘Conclave’. In the Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language category, ‘All We Imagine As Light’ will compete with other distinguished films, including ‘Emilia Perez’, ‘The Girl with the Needle’, ‘I’m Still Here’, and ‘The Seed of the Sacred Fig’.
The awards ceremony will be aired live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ at 5 PM PT/8 PM ET on January 5. For Indian audiences, the event will be available for live streaming on Lionsgate Play on January 6, starting at 6:30 AM IST.
The evening is expected to be a star-studded affair, featuring a lineup of presenters that includes global icons such as Andrew Garfield, Anya Taylor-Joy, Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Jeff Goldblum, Jennifer Coolidge, Michelle Yeoh, Seth Rogen, and Viola Davis, among others. The 82nd Golden Globe Awards promises to be a memorable celebration of excellence in film and television.
