The Freelancer

The series is directed by Bhav Dhulia, with Neeraj Pandey, known for his acclaimed works like A Wednesday and Baby, serving as the show runner. The Freelancer revolves around the story of a young girl who finds herself falsely ensnared in Syria due to her husband’s deceit. The series is adapted from Shirish Thorat’s novel A Ticket to Syria. Joining the stellar cast are John Kokken, Gauri Balaji, Navneet Malik, Manjiri Faddnis, and Sarah Jane Dias. It will stream on Disney Plus Hotstar from September 1.

A Day and a Half 
In order to reunite with his daughter, Artan, a disturbed man, bursts into the medical centre where his ex-wife Louise works and takes her hostage at gunpoint. Demanding to be shown the location of their daughter, Artan ventures on a dangerous and emotionally heightened road trip with Louise and a police officer named Lukas. As they journey through rural Sweden with the cops on their heels, the three characters are forced to confront the upheavals in their respective lives. Streaming on Netflix.

Friday Night Plan
This coming-of-age comedy-drama focuses on two brothers formulating a plan to attend a late-night party while their mother is on a business trip. The high schooler siblings get ready to experience a happening night that turns out to be monumental for them in ways they couldn’t have imagined as they handle trouble with the police and explore issues in their relationship while trying to get back before their mom returns. The film stars Babil Khan, Amrith Jayan and Juhi Chawla in the lead. It is streaming on Netflix.

The Wheel of Time season 2
Based on Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson’s high fantasy series of the same name, The Wheel of Time focuses on Moiraine Damodred, a powerful sorceress of the Aes Sedai, a group of women who can channel the One Power.
She seeks the company of five young villagers from the secluded Two Rivers region of Andor as one of them is the reincarnation of the Dragon, a precarious figure from history destined to either save the world or raze it to the ground.
Season 2 sees more threats seeking the five friends as Moiraine is powerless to help them anymore. It is streaming on Prime Video
