India’s renowned luxury fashion designer, JJ Valaya, is set to unveil his latest couture collection, ‘Muraqqa,’ at the India Couture Week 2024 in New Delhi on July 29. The collection draws inspiration from the artistic capitals of Islamic art—Istanbul, Isfahan, and Delhi—blending their rich cultural heritage with contemporary fashion.
Valaya’s ‘Muraqqa’ collection pays homage to the intricate art of historical Muraqqa albums, which combined poems, paintings, and artistic treasures. This season, Valaya reimagines these historical elements into a modern context, creating a couture experience that celebrates the past while resonating with today’s fashion-forward audience.
The collection will feature 66 pieces, including menswear, womenswear, and three couture masterpieces, all meticulously designed to tell a cohesive story over a 20-25 minute runway presentation. Luxury jewelry from ISVARI by Jalandhar Jewellery House will complement the ensembles, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the showcase.
