Crime docuseries ‘Wedding.con’ to be out on this date

Filmmaker Tanuja Chandra is all set to present a documentary series titled and Wedding.con. According to the statement, the project closely follows the stories of five women as they embark on a journey to realize their dream of a happy marriage.

As the story unfolds, the search for the perfect partner take a haunting turn as they fall victims to men’s financial and emotional abuse. These women feel cheated and betrayed by these fraud men who adopted false identities and posed as suitable grooms over the internet. This five-part documentary encourages people to raise awareness and take immediate and strict action against such scams. The documentary focuses on highlighting the vulnerabilities of women who fall prey to such cronies who target easy and unsuspecting women.

Sharing the details, Tanuja Chandra said, “In India and other South Asian cultures, it is widely believed that marriage is the most important milestone for a woman. life and pressure and limit and increases all the time as you get older.” She added, “Wedding.con is the story of five women who fell victim to a marriage scam but have now survived and shown immense courage in sharing their experiences to expose these scams. When BBC Studios brought this project to me, it was eye-opening and I am grateful to these incredible women and to Prime Video for passionately supporting my vision of bringing this documentary series to life. I really hope that this series, which will reach a wide audience in India and globally on Prime Video, will help save women from being cheated in the future.”

Wedding.con is a testament to our unwavering commitment. Through poignant documentation of real-life experiences, the series not only serves as a warning, but also aims to inform and educate viewers about online marriage fraud, which turns out to be one of the most underreported crimes.
