Coldplay is gearing up for their highly anticipated India tour, but they’ve already experienced a glimpse of Punjabi charm during their Abu Dhabi concert. In a heartwarming moment, lead singer Chris Martin delighted fans by reading a spirited message from the crowd, one tied to Punjabi pop star Diljit Dosanjh.
Chris Martin Reads “Punjabi aa gaye oye”
During the concert, a fan sign in the audience caught Chris Martin’s attention. The Coldplay frontman read aloud, “Punjabi aa gaye oye” (Punjabis have arrived), drawing cheers from the crowd. He followed it up with a warm, “We love you too.” A clip of the moment, shared by Diljit Dosanjh’s team on Instagram, read, “Chris Martin says PUNJABI AA GAYE OYE…!!!!” Fans celebrated the wholesome gesture, with the caption adding, “Chris Martin reading Coldplay fan posters and flags is so wholesome.”

The catchphrase “Punjabi aa gaye oye” became iconic after Diljit Dosanjh’s historic Coachella performance in 2023, symbolizing Punjabi pride and cultural influence worldwide.
Diljit and Coldplay’s India Tours
Diljit Dosanjh wrapped up his Dil-Luminati Tour last year, performing across cities like Gurgaon, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Ludhiana. His electrifying shows celebrated his growing international stardom.
Meanwhile, Coldplay is set to perform in India as part of their Music of the Spheres Tour, with concerts lined up in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, followed by Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26. This will mark Coldplay’s return to India after an eight-year hiatus, their last visit being for the 2016 Global Citizen Festival.
However, both Coldplay and Diljit’s tours have faced criticism due to ticket scalping allegations after shows sold out almost instantly.
