Chhaava Scores Big on Day 5

In an interview with film exhibitor Akshay Rathie, the film collected a whopping Rs. 165 crore in domestic sales by the end of its fifth day in India.  When asked about how the film is doing compared to other films at the box office, he replied, “It’s a major success for 2025 to date. Given these numbers, there has been no other film in the current year that has even come close. It has become an industry landmark.” The figure has set a high standard for Bollywood and confirmed Vicky Kaushal’s box office appeal.

Future Expectations

When asked about the film’s future box office collection, Rathie said, ‘Chhaava’ is likely to cross the Rs. 300 crore mark domestically easily.” He contended, “If this has its game on, it could easily be Vicky Kaushal’s best film to date.” Word of mouth is expected to rise, with good audience engagement helping this film to sail through in the weeks to come.

Cast and Brilliance

Actor Vicky Kaushal portrays the hero of the film, a brave Maratha king ‘Samprahi’ with actress Rashmika Mandanna as ‘Maharani Yesubai’. The rest of the cast is trigger-happy, too, with Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai. The background score and impeccable soundtrack by AR Rahman provide the guinea pig story a great watch.

Milestones of Chhaava

‘Chhaava’ reaches higher milestones at the box office with no sense of pulling back. With its twists of historical romance, packed with action sequences and fine performances, it is still drawing the crowds.

With the second week heavily under observation, speculation continues as to whether the film can quell the supposed fetish for historical romances in Bollywood.
