Bollywood Stands with Palestine: Alia, Kareena, Varun Show Support After Rafah Attack

Days following Israel’s attack on Rafah, several Bollywood actors have expressed support for Palestine. Celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan joined in solidarity.

Alia shared a post on her Instagram Stories from @themotherhoodhome, advocating for children’s safety and peace in Rafah, with the caption “#AllEyesOnRafah.” Kareena Kapoor also shared a UNICEF post condemning the killing of children and families in Rafah. Varun Dhawan posted the “All Eyes on Rafah” image on his Instagram stories in protest of Israel’s attack.

Other actors showing solidarity include Triptii Dimri, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Samantha Prabhu, Dia Mirza, and Swara Bhasker.

The conflict saw Israeli shelling and airstrikes killing at least 37 people in Rafah, many of whom were sheltering in tents. The attack occurred in an area previously struck by deadly fires in a camp for displaced Palestinians. The assault prompted over a million people to flee the city, with families scattered across makeshift camps and war-ravaged areas.

The World Health Organization reported that casualties from the strike overwhelmed field hospitals already facing shortages in supplies. The United States and other Israeli allies have cautioned against further escalation, with the Biden administration warning of crossing a “red line” and refusing to provide offensive arms.
