A body chopped into five pieces inside polythene bags was discovered at Yamuna Khadar near the Geeta Colony flyover in North Delhi on Wednesday morning.
The Police said their control room received a call regarding the body parts at around 9:15 a.m. After the team reached the spot, the first bag was found, and while searching, the other polythene bag was also discovered. Paramaditya, Joint CP, Central Range, said, Two black polythene bags were discovered, one containing the head, and the second bag has other body parts. The body is decomposed, and based on long hair, we can primarily say it is female; however, the conformity of gender can only be determined by forensic experts. We have sent the body for a post-mortem and forensic investigation. The identification of a body can only be done by forensic experts.
DCP North Sagar Singh Kalsi told the media that crime and forensic teams have reached the spot. We are also conducting searches with drones in the area. A case under 302 has been registered, and we are working to collect more evidence. Prime facie, the deceased appears to be between 35 and 40 years of age, and Investigators suspect that the person was murdered somewhere else and then the body parts were dumped here.
