A boat accident took place on the Brahmaputra river in Assam’s Nalbari district on Sunday evening. The accident took one life, and three others were injured.

The boat mishap and the death of an individual were confirmed by the police. The deceased is identified as Aijul Hoque, while the injured people are identified as Moqibul Islam, Taizuddin Ahmed, and Farman Ali.

At least 12 people were on a country-made boat on their way from the Goroimari area in the Kamrup district to the Kurihamari area in the Nalbari district, according to the locals. Another boat came from the opposite direction, and the two boats collided.


The passengers were rescued by the locals following the incident. 
“One person died and three others were injured in the incident, and the injured persons were rushed to Mukalmua hospital,” said Simanta Borah, Officer-in-Charge of Mukalmua police station in Nalbari district.

At around 5 pm, the boats collided head-on. One of my family members died in the accident and three others were injured,” a relative of the deceased person said.”

At least six passengers were reported missing after a boat capsized in the Brahmaputra river in the Dhubri area late in September. A circle officer was among those who were discovered deceased. 72 hours after the accident, the body of the officer who was missing in the boat incident was found.
