Between November 4 and December 14, cases were lodged against contractors and individuals for violating the 2006 Cleanliness and Sanitation by-laws. An official stated, “These cases and fines are as of December 14, with ongoing updates expected, potentially increasing case numbers and penalties.”
Fines for uncleanliness
>> Rs 1,000: For owners/occupiers of single premises
>> Rs 10,000: For others
>> Rs 100: For disposal of waste by burning
>> Rs 20,000: For not delivering construction and demolition waste in a segregated manner as specified.
