Residents in Delhi are dealing with a troubling issue regarding their water supply, as the water’s color reportedly changes daily. In Nathu Pura Colony, locals have reported receiving water in various hues including blue, red, and even black. A video from Peeragarhi, showing blue water coming from taps, has gone viral on social media.

Residents have confirmed the issue by sharing mobile videos of the discolored water. They noted that the water appears at unpredictable times—morning, evening, or night—and changes color each time it flows.

Videos shared by locals, including women, corroborate the social media footage, showing dirty water coming from their taps. As a result, many have ceased using the supplied water and instead rely on borewells or hand pumps installed outside their homes, despite the ground water being salty.

In one instance, morning water appeared light yellow with visible dirt particles, though it looked clear from the outside. A resident highlighted that, although not deeply colored, it was still unclean.

Numerous homes have borewells or hand pumps, as residents find the salty ground water to be cleaner than the supplied water. People have collected samples of the colored water from various homes, suggesting that lab tests would likely reveal it is unsafe. They noted that while the blue and black water issue is recent, the problem of dirty and foul-smelling water has been persistent.
