Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party, took to the streets in Shimla on Saturday, staging a creative “Samosa March” to voice their discontent with the ruling state government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.

In a lively display, BJYM workers carried trays of samosas through the city center as they marched, chanting slogans and calling attention to what they described as failures in governance by the state administration. According to the BJYM, the protest symbolized the “increased financial burden” on the common people under the current government. Protesters argued that escalating prices of essential items and issues like unemployment and lack of infrastructure have impacted the livelihoods of residents.

Speaking on behalf of the BJYM, a spokesperson stated, “The samosa represents the daily snack of the common man, which has become expensive due to inflation and the high cost of living in the state. We’re here to highlight the hardships that ordinary citizens are enduring due to the policies of this government.”

The unique protest drew a crowd of curious onlookers, with many locals and tourists stopping to watch the demonstration. The BJYM vowed to continue its series of protests across the state until the government addresses their grievances.
