Maharashtra Minister Ravindra Chavan has confirmed that the next mayor of the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) in Thane district will be a member of the BJP. Chavan made this announcement while addressing a gathering of BJP workers in Kalyan on Sunday. He also disclosed that the BJP and the Shiv Sena, under the leadership of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, will jointly participate in upcoming elections throughout Maharashtra.
While the schedule for the pending municipal corporation elections in the state is yet to be announced, it’s noteworthy that the KDMC was previously governed by the Shiv Sena (undivided) before its term concluded.
Chavan expressed optimism about the collaborative approach between the BJP and Shiv Sena, asserting, “Only the BJP nominee will become the mayor of KDMC after the elections. We are hopeful that both parties will have a due agreement on the mayoral nominee. The entire process will be conducted with the alliance’s consensus.” He emphasized Chief Minister Shinde’s commitment to keeping his promises and assured that this partnership would be no exception.
