The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to hold a key meeting of its office bearers on August 17 in New Delhi, with a focus on the party’s membership drive, assembly poll preparations, and organizational elections, according to party sources. The meeting will be chaired by BJP President JP Nadda and will include the participation of state chiefs, general secretaries, and other senior party officials. BJP General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh is also expected to attend.

This will be the first significant gathering of BJP office bearers following the Lok Sabha elections. The upcoming assembly polls in Haryana, Maharashtra, and Jharkhand are crucial for the BJP, particularly after the party fell short of an absolute majority in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The BJP currently leads the third successive National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP is in power in both Maharashtra and Haryana but did not achieve the expected results in these states during the Lok Sabha elections. As the party ramps up its preparations for the assembly polls, the Mahayuti government in Maharashtra and the BJP government in Haryana have announced several initiatives aimed at public welfare.

The upcoming meeting is expected to review the party’s strategies and readiness for the assembly elections in these key states.
