Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest against the “derogatory” remarks made by Pakistani foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Issuing a statement BJP said, “The protests will be held in all the state capitals across the country. BJP karyakartas will burn the effigy of Pakistan and Pakistani Foreign Minister and will strongly condemn the shameful statement of Pakistani Foreign Minister.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday morning hundreds of BJP workers and leaders began protests in Maharashtra’s Mumbai and Pune. All the workers and leaders gathered at major junctions with placards in their hands.
The effigies of Pakistan and Pakistan’s Foreign Minister were burnt and slogans were shouted against them.
Moreover, in Pune BJP State president Chandrashekhar Bawankule led the protest.
“The party is holding a nationwide protest against the derogatory remarks made by Bilawal against PM Modiji. We strongly condemn his remarks,” Bawankule said.
At various places in Mumbai, hundreds of BJP workers and leaders gathered and held demonstrations along that songs played criticizing the Pakistan government and its foreign minister.
The outrage across the country has sparked in all the state capitals across the country over the “derogatory” remarks made by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari against PM Modi.
During a press conference at the United Nations in New York, the Pakistani minister made defamatory remarks and said, “highly derogatory and full of cowardice.”
However, Bilawal Bhutto’s remark has gained global attention after which the BJP party said, “The statement is also aimed at misleading the world and diverting global attention from Pakistan’s collapsing economy, lawlessness and anarchy in Pakistan, simmering differences in the Pakistani army, its deteriorating global relations, and the fact that Pakistan has become a major sanctuary for terrorists.”
Furthermore, against Bilawal’s statement, a protest outside Pakistan High Commission in Delhi was also staged by BJP workers.
